Reba Todd

Obituary of Reba Joyce Todd

Reba Joyce Todd, age 63, of Quitman, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away in the late morning hours of Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.  Reba was born on October 25, 1953 in Lodi, California to the late Jesse Franklin and Dorothy Marie Cox Haley.  She was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School where she was a member of the FHA, serving as an officer for all four years, and was a member of the Beta Club and the Drama Club.

Reba went on to graduate from the Mount Pleasant Cosmetology Academy and the University of Texas at Tyler where she earned her Associates Degree in Vocational Education.  Reba worked as a cosmetologist her entire life, owning numerous salons along the way.  She also was an instructor and inspector throughout her career.

Reba married the love her life and her best friend, Stanley Lamar Todd, on September 6, 1991 in Quitman, Texas.  Together they spent the next 26 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories, he survives.

Those who knew Reba best knew her for the fun loving, good time person she was.  She enjoyed trail rides, singing and performing in multiple Franklin County Foley’s productions, and singing in her band, “Incahoots”, with her husband Stan.  Reba grew up in the Lake Chapel Church where she learned religion and found the Lord, a priority she was sure to pass on to her children.  Reba’s greatest joy in life came from her beloved family.  She was very proud of all of their successes and many talents.  Reba loved and cared deeply for her grandchildren, whom she loved to brag about.  Reba leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and laughs that will be missed by all her knew her.

Reba is survived by her husband, Stan, of Quitman; daughters, Miranda Berry, and husband Antonio, and Tiffany Taylor, and husband Josh; son, Daniel Todd, and wife Mary Ann; and by grandchildren, Haleigh Mitchell, Trevor Berry, Jewels Taylor, and Lilly Todd.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, Frankie Haley and Daryl Haley; sister, Shirley Haley Hare; and grandchildren, Preston Lamar Thornton and Jessa Marie Taylor.
