Obituary of Reba Dell Borden

Reba Dell Borden, age 86, of Talco, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.  Reba was born on December 30, 1930 in Hagansport, Texas to the late Robert and Dovie Jewel Elliott House.  On February 24, 1949, Reba married the love of her life and her lifelong best friend, J.T. Borden.  Together they would spend the next 35 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories.  He preceded her in death on July 29, 1985.

Reba attended Lake Chapel Church while her health allowed it.  Reba worked for many years at the Franklin County Library and the Extension Office in Mount Vernon.  In her free time, Reba enjoyed cooking and traveling around – it didn’t matter if it was traveling to town or taking a long road trip, Reba just loved going and seeing people.  Reba was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her but they are left to rejoice in the idea that she is now dancing again in Heaven with so many of her family and friends who went on before her.

Reba is survived by one son, Roy Lee Borden, and wife Debbie, of Sulphur Bluff; Sheila Yvette Borden of Talco; grandchildren, Heather Owens, Justin Holmes, and wife Pearl, Michael Borden, and Misty Borden; great-grandchildren, Jaydin, Darion, Keira, Keegan, Davante, Lexi, Logan, and Skylar; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.

Reba was also preceded in death by one brother, Willie Leonard House.

Funeral services for Reba Dell Borden will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Al Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery with Mike Blevins, Michael Borden, Josef Fleming, Justin Holmes, Aaron Johnson and Mark Johnson serving as pall bearers.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.
