Obituary of Peggy Marie Todd

Peggy Marie Todd, age 92, of Saltillo, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, September 15, 2017 at Pleasant Springs Health Care Center in Mount Pleasant.  Peggy was born on July 12, 1925 to the late Richard M and Stella Irene Hall Lay.  She married the love of her life and her best friend Billy Ray Todd in Wichita Falls, Texas on January 25, 1946.  Together Billy Ray and Peggy would spend the next 57 years raising a family and living and lifetime of memories before his passing on November 20, 2003. 

Peggy was active in her children’s lives when they lived in South Houston.  She was a Sunday school teacher at Faith Methodist Church and a team mom for the baseball team.  Peggy also served as president of the Garden Club in South Houston. 

Peggy and her family moved to Saltillo where they bought a farm from the Spearman family. 

Peggy is survived by two sons, Ronnie R. Todd, and wife Sidney, of Granby, Colorado and Richard “Rick” Todd of Mount Vernon; one grandson, Jason Newham; two granddaughters, Lauren and Addison; best friend, Phyllis Donica; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.

Funeral services for Peggy Todd will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Joy Stone officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount Vernon City Cemetery with Dale Crowston, Tim Evans, Floyd Mille, Jay Miller, Brad Nicholson, and Bruce Nicholson serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
