Obituary of Zackry Hans Holland

Zackry Hans Holland, age 18, of Mount Vernon, left his Earthly home in the late evening hours of Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Mount Vernon.  Zack was born on April 14, 1999 in Dallas, Texas to Hans and Jennifer Marie Ryan Holland.  He attended school at Mount Vernon where he loved playing football and running track.  Zack graduated from high school in August 2017.  He had been working as a forklift operator at Jay Tex Aviation in Mount Vernon. 

Zackry was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on April 14, 2007.  He held the Aaronic Priesthood.  He was sealed to his parents in the Dallas Temple on January 20, 2000 for all time and eternity. 

Zackry was a hard working young man who will forever be remembered as a loyal friend with a sweet spirit.  He was a defender of the defenseless and conscientious of everyone around him.  Zack loved history and everything Texas.  Zack leaves behind a void in the hearts of those he knew and loved that may never fully be healed.

Zackry is survived by his parents, Hans and Jennifer Holland, of Mount Vernon; one brother, Joseph Zane Holland of Mount Vernon; sister Christie Holland Opat, and husband Richard, of Selina, Kansas; grandparents, Sharon Frazier of Mount Vernon and Ronnie and Juanita Ryan of Gilmer; aunt, Jackie Ashley of Mount Vernon; niece and nephew, Tiffani Stanley and Dustin Stanley of Selina, Kansas; and by a host of other relatives and many very special friends.

Zackry was preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Margaret Holland and Zack Frazier.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 22, 2017 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Bishop Mark Beck presiding.  Dedication of his grave and burial will follow at Mount Vernon City Cemetery.  Sarah Ashley, Chance Ashley, Tyler Cooper, Chase Hyman, Lee Reeves, and Lucas Rolf will serve as pallbearers.  Zane Holland will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
