Obituary of Lucy Ruth Dykes

Lucy Ruth Dykes, age 75, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Paris, passed away peacefully in the early evening hours of Friday, September 15, 2017 at the Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.  Ruth was born on January 23, 1942 in Tyler, Texas to the late Edward Herman and Daphon Lakey Hubbard.  Following college, Ruth began her career as a CPA where she worked in Paris for a number of years before moving to Mount Vernon and becoming the CPA for the Cypress Springs Water Supply Corporation where she retired after years of dedicated service.

Ruth was known for her cooking.  To many, she made the best rolls and pies in East Texas.  Ruth was an active patriot and Republican.  She was a longtime member of the NRA.  Those who knew Ruth best will remember the love she had for children and grandchildren and how she valued the time she was able to spend with them.
