Billy Jacks

Obituary of Billy Joe Jacks

Billy Joe Jacks, age 78, of Waco, formerly of Dallas, passed away in the mid-morning hours of Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Crestview Healthcare Residence in Waco.  Billy was born on June 3, 1939 in Mount Pleasant, Texas to the late Luther and Thelma Moore Jacks.

Billy was a lifetime member of the Baptist faith.  Those who had the privilege of knowing Billy will remember him as an extraordinarily gifted artist.  Billy had the talent to look at something like the face of a quarter and replicate it to scale on a much larger piece of paper.  Billy enjoyed westerns and horses and he loved to eat, especially sweets.  Billy lived a life with many challenges and overcame numerous obstacles but he never quit or gave up.  Through his final years in life, Billy lived with class and respected and loved those who were charged to care for him.

Billy is survived by one sister, Mary Paine, of Gladewater; two nieces, Sandy Evans, and husband Tim, of Mount Vernon and Robin Chestnut, and husband Don, of Granbury; and by a host great and great-great nieces and nephews  and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Billy Joe Jacks will be held at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Farmers Academy Cemetery in Mount Pleasant with Brother Bob Matthews officiating.
