Obituary of Timothy Lee Dillard

Timothy Lee Dillard, age 52, of Mount Vernon, passed away in the early afternoon hours of Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at his home.  Tim was born on September 15, 1965 in Dallas, Texas to Choyce E. and Virginia Silbernagel Dillard, she survives.  Tim worked for Lowe’s for many years, working his way to Assistant Transportation Manager. 

Tim married the love of his life and his best friend, Taunya Burton, on May 24, 1986 in Garland, Texas.  Together they have spent the last 31 years raising a family and living a lifetime of memories. 

Tim was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and hunting, especially deer hunting.  He loved shooting guns, riding four wheelers, and anything he could do outside with his beloved family and friends.  Tim also enjoyed collecting coins and had a knack for all kinds of things around the house.  Those who knew Tim best will always remember Tim as one of the nicest men in Mount Vernon who never met a stranger.  He had a drive to fight debilitating illness that was fueled by the deep love he had for his beloved family.

Tim is survived by his wife, Taunya, of Mount Vernon, son, Ryan Dillard, and wife Ashley, of Dallas; daughter, Kathryn Dillard, and fiancé Dustin Brown, of Mount Vernon; granddaughter, Alyssa Rodriguez; brothers, Michael Dillard, and wife Theresa, of Dallas, and Christian Dillard, and wife Carrie, of Colleyville; sister, Angela Boyd, and husband Mark, of Frisco; by 8 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and nephews, and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.

Funeral services for Tim Dillard will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Dillard and Chris Dillard officiating.  Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Nash, Texas with Kenny Dickerson, Colson Dillard, Marvin Fomby, James Foster, Nicholas Foster, and Zachary Foster serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
