Obituary of Patsy Anne Johnson
Patsy Anne Taylor Johnson went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 3, 2018, at age 78. Mrs. Johnson was born in Saltillo, Texas on May 29, 1939. She moved to Mt. Vernon at an early age and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1956.
Mrs. Johnson began her career in the insurance industry at age 17, retiring in 2005 from Conseco Insurance Company in Carmel, Indiana. She then returned to Texas where she lived the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Johnson was truly a friend to her friends. If she knew you, you were important to her. She valued relationships with people more than anything else.
She is survived by her son, Paul Bryant Johnson and wife Heidi, from Claude, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Kyle and AmandaLea Johnson of Gary, Indiana; Evan, Eric and Ethan Johnson, of Claude, Texas; her brother, Wayne Taylor of Mt. Vernon, and 2 sisters, Joyce Marchi and husband Gino, of Galveston, and Brenda Hurst of San Angelo, Texas. She is also survived by good friend Martha Stone Chitsey of Mt. Vernon and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Holy and Flora Taylor; husband Joseph Edward Johnson; brother, Zach Taylor and 3 sisters, Betty Sprague, Billie Marie Cockrell, and Margaret May. All who knew her felt they were loved and her greatest love was for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, February 6 and were officiated by her son Rev. Paul Johnson.
