Obituary of Benjamin David Gibbs

On February 28, 2018, Ben Gibbs, age 42 of Saltillo, TX stepped out of the cares and worries of this world into Eternity with his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is now with his LORD in the place where there are no more worries, no more struggles, no more pain, and no more tears.

Ben was a kind, generous, and loyal friend.

Born on February 5, 1976, he professed his faith in Jesus Christ as his LORD and Savior when he was about ten years old. At that time his pastor at First Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, was Dr. Mike Milborn, and the evangelist was John Wood.

He leaves behind his parents Nat Paul and Shirley Gibbs of Mt. Vernon; one brother Matthew Paul Gibbs and his wife Rocio Gibbs of San Antonio; two nieces Maria and Monica Gibbs of San Antonio; an aunt, Julia Wood of DeSoto; as well as numerous cousins and friends whom he loved and with whom he shared special friendships.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nat and Blanche Gibbs of Mt. Vernon, and Ike and Bobbie Sanders of Dallas.

We will miss Ben more than we can express, but we are confident we’ll be reunited with him in heaven.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, TX.  Funeral Service will follow visitation at 11 AM .at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Martin officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Saltillo Cemetery.
