Obituary of J.T. Blunt, Jr.

J.T. Blunt Jr., 96, of Mt. Pleasant, TX passed away on March 7, 2018 in Mount Vernon, TX.  He was born on June 4, 1921 in Cumby Texas to Judson T. Blunt Sr. and Gladys Blunt.  Mr. Blunt served honorably in the US Army during WWII and received a purple heart medal. He was a member of the VFW Post #3992, Mt Vernon, member of American Legion, member of the American Cutting Horse Association and a honorary member in the American Rodeo Hall of Fame.  He enjoyed spending his time with grandchildren and horses.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

He is survived by two sons, James Edward Blunt and wife Robin of Greenville, TX, Wayne Blunt of Fayetteville, AR; daughter, Christine Hallford and husband Tommy of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Brandan Blunt and wife Nicki of Greenville, Brittany Hanson and husband Daniel of Shertz, TX, Clayton Blunt and wife Kara of Nashville, TN, Ashley Parmer and husband Ben of Wills Point, TX; great-grandchildren, Richard Grubbs and wife Lindsey of Arthur City, TX, Cody Cox of Mt. Pleasant, Harbor Blunt of Greenville, Everett Blunt, Olivia Blunt, Semera Parmer, Alexis Blunt, Charli Jeter and Van Jeter; great great-grandchildren, Tanner Grubbs, Haidyn Grubbs, Hannah Gail Grubbs; brothers, Bill Blunt and wife Pat of Garland, TX, Luther Blunt and wife Linda of Rockwall, TX; sisters, Judy Pollan and husband Gary of Lone Star, TX and Donnie Emory of Lone Star, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Long Cemetery in Cumby, TX, with Mike Moss officiating.
