Obituary of Judith Marilyn Owens

Marilyn Owens of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully April 17at her home.  She was born Judith Marilyn Orren on March 21, 1937 in Mount Vernon, Texas the daughter of Glenn and Seple (Davis) Orren.

Marilyn graduated from Mount Vernon High School and attended Tyler Junior College.  She met and married the love of her life, Bobby Owens on December 18, 1959 In Dallas, Texas. Marilyn was a loving mother to their two sons, and helped her husband raise chickens. In her spare time she loved to work in her yard and garden, having a green thumb she could root and grow just about anything.  She was of the Baptist faith. 

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, Bobby Gene Owens of Mount Vernon, Texas; their two sons, Tracy J.and his wife Samee Owens of Mount Vernon, Texas and Kevin D. Owens of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Heather N. Owens of Hagansprt, Texas, Tricia Owens, Tessa Martinez both of Mount Vernon, Texas, Martin DeShazo and Alex Jenkins both of McKinney, Texas; 10 great grandchildren; and niece, Jerri G. Bannister of Mount Vernon, Texas.  She is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Harrold G. Orren and Donald K Orren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Old Saltillo, Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas.  The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday evening at Sam Harvey Funeral Home.
