Obituary of Debra Kaye Hatten
Debra Kaye Hatten, 56, of Mount Vernon, TX passed away on April 19, 2018 in Longview, TX. She was born on June 20, 1961 in San Antonio, TX to the late W.L. and Mary Jeanette Lawson.
Mrs. Hatten is a member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, Mount Pleasant, TX where she was called to be the Stake Relief Society Secretary. She began her career as a police officer with the Forest Hill Police Dept. then transferred to the Ft. Worth Police Dept. as a K9 officer. After 23 years of service as a peace officer she retired. She was a member of the Ft. Worth Police Officers Association and enjoyed baking, art and crafts, and spending time with her animals. Mrs. Hatten was always full of love.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Cassandra Lawson.
She is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, Larry Hatten; son, Brandon Hatten and wife Kersey of Logan, UT; stepson, Justin Hatten and wife Amel of Brooklyn, NY; stepdaughters, Jacqueline, Staci and Shelby; granddaughter, Sykora; brother, Fredrick Lawson and wife Jevon of Ft. Worth; sisters, Lynn Williams and husband Michael of Watauga, TX and Vanessa Roark and husband Richard of Denver, CO; six nieces, one nephew and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 10- 12 PM at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church, 5001 Altamesa Blvd., Ft. Worth, TX 76133. Funeral service will follow visitation at 12 PM at the church officiated by President Jeff Sant. Interment will follow Laurel Land Cemetery, 7100 Crowley Rd., Ft. Worth, TX 76134.
