Obituary of Oleta Dyer Stretcher

Oleta Dyer Stretcher, 89, of Mount Vernon, Tx passed away in Mount Pleasant, TX on May 4, 2018.  She was born on November 15, 1928 in Hagansport, TX to the late King D. and Zettie Elliott Dyer.  Ms. Stretcher was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon.  She attended Business School in her earlier years and then went on to work for Sears&Roebuck, Sanger Harris and Wyatts Cafeteria.  She also attended Cosmetology School and worked as a beautician for some time.  Ms. Stretcher enjoyed reading, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, and loved spending time with her dog, “Bud”.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Weldon “BO” Stretcher; two brothers, Baby David Dyer and JD Dyer; two sisters, Ruth and Jacquelyn; brother in laws, Frank Stretcher and Edwin Martin; sister in law, Lois Dyer.

She is survived by brother, Bill Dyer; sister, Fannie Stretcher; nephews, Gary Stretcher, Keith Stretcher, Kelly Stretcher, Tony Martin, Clint Martin, Terry Martin; nieces, Donna Underwood and Cindy Dyer.

Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Colliers Chapel Cemetery, Talco, TX.

In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations to be made to the Colliers Chapel Cemetery Association in her name.
