Obituary of Charles "Monty" LaMont Godfrey
Monty Godfrey of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away at his residence Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was born Charles LaMont Godfrey on September 29, 1958 in Lubbock, Texas the son of Charles S. and June (Nelson) Godfrey.
Monty loved fishing and hunting. He was a truck driver and mechanic for many years. He preferred a simple life, and time spent with his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, June Godfrey of Mount Vernon, Texas, his wife. Pam Godfrey of Winfield, Texas, his two children, Damion and his wife Stephanie of Mount Vernon and Tori Godfrey of Winfield, Texas; grandchildren, Trace, Sabrina, Austin, Harley, Katie, Katelyn, Angela, Caleb, Laelah, Kami, Kendal and Lexi; 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Laine and Melissa Godfrey of Mount Pleasant, Texas and Toby and Sue Godfrey of Mount Vernon, Texas; sisters, La’Doyce and Jerry Davis of Mount Pleasant, Texas and La’Kesa and Richard Giles of Commerce, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father.
A private graveside service will be held for Monty.
