Obituary of Kevin Lee Tucker

Kevin Lee Tucker of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  He was born Cincinnati Ohio on November 15, 1961 to Jim and Betty Tucker.

Kevin moved with his family to Sulphur Springs in 1966 and he graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1980, and was a member of the Wildcat Golf Team.   He attended East Texas State University and Harris County Community College.  He spent most of his life in Houston, Texas, he partnered with his dad at J & K Leasing.  He worked most of his life in the transportation service at Intercontinental Airport and for Marriott Hotels.

He loved history and his rock and roll music and would watch documentaries on many historical events but his favorite would be the life stories of old rock and rollers.  Being an avid sports fan, he enjoyed playing golf and a good game of pool with his friends. Kevin was a compassionate person who was happiest when he could do something for someone else.  He gave of his time to the homeless shelters in downtown Houston where he could serve others even when he did not have much to give, he still shared with others. Being a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals or the Ohio Buckeyes was not always welcomed at the Houston Astrodome if you were rooting for the visitor which Kevin did!

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jim and Betty Tucker; siblings, Kim and Don Huffstetler, Mary Keys and Jay Tucker and wife Erin; nieces and nephews, Andi Pickering, Haley Puryear, Jamie Seawright, John Huffstetler, Jordan Seawright, Grant Tucker, Zack Tucker and Cade Tucker.

Funeral services for Kevin will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 8, 2018 in the chapel at Sam Harvey Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
