Obituary of Pieter Mellema

Funeral services for Pieter Mellema, age 31, of Mount Vernon, Texas are scheduled for Thursday June 21, 2018 at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home at 11:00 am. Burial will follow service at The Friendship Cemetery.

Mr. Mellema was born on August 14, 1986 in Mount Vernon, TX to Bonne Mellema and Jannie Arendz- Mellema.

He was a mechanic, truckdriver and dairyman for many years.

He died at the dairy on June 14, 2018

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Fetzen Mellema and Sijke Bijker- Mellema.

He is survived by his parents; Bonne and Jannie Mellema of Mount Vernon; his maternal grandparents Petrus Arendz and Hinkje Castelein-Arendz; his wife Zaray Campos and his five children; Michelle, Baruch, Tjerk, Pieter and Maximiliano of Dalhart, TX; his brothers Fetzen Mellema of Mount Vernon and Brucht and Regina Mellema of Mount Vernon; his sister Sijke Mellema and her son Shane Mellema of Mount Vernon

His uncles and aunts; Family Schoonhoven and Family Talsma of Mount Vernon, Texas; Family A. Nijdam, Family J. Arendz, Family J.P. Arendz, Family Tj. Stelwagen, Family D. Bouma, Family W. Stelwagen and Family P. Mellema, The Netherlands; as well as a host of cousins.
