Obituary of Wilbur Weston White

Former Lubbock resident, Wilbur Weston White passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Mission Manor Nursing Center.  He was born on May 21, 1935 in Enid, Oklahoma to Willard Eugene and Isabel Grace (Ward) White.

“Willie” as he was known by his friends, was a servant to all those around him.  He was a deeply loving father, husband and friend to all that he came into contact with. During his time there, he built California’s most successful Trucking and Mobile Home Moving Company, as well as other brave and distinctive endeavors. After moving to Texas he was a cotton farmer in the Lubbock area. Wilbur was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church of Lubbock.  He and his wife Loraine were active with the Jail Ministries in Lubbock.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 28 years, Loraine White of Winnsboro, Texas; his children, Rockey and Lora White of Arlington, Texas, Teresa Dianne “Teri” and Jimmy Ballard of Point, Texas; step-children,  Jeffrey and Jill Jones of Round Rock, Texas and Billy Jones of Bryan, Texas; grandchildren, Cash Weston Wilson and Kirk J. and Quinn Hoang Wilson, Chase Allen and Marissa White, Taylor Allen and Sarah White and Haley Allen White; step-grandchildren, Amanda, Amberlee and Nick Jones; seven great grandchildren; brother, Forrest Keith White; sisters-in-law, Carol and Willis Rogers, Jeanette and Denny Hicks, Sally and Gene Salsbury, Jacklynne LeClaire and Kay Pettus.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in the Chapel at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in Ceres, Oklahoma.
