Obituary of Shirley D. Clay
Former Purley resident, Shirley D. Clay passed away Friday, July 27, 2018. She was born July 5, 1947 in Salinas, California to Edmond and Ruby Guillemin.
Shirley was a member of the Weaver Baptist Church and a respiratory therapist at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Winnsboro. Together with her husband she worked as a paramedic in the Dallas area as well as the East Texas area and Georgia. She also served as a dispatcher for the sheriff’s department in Georgia.
She leaves her husband of 39 years, James Kenneth Clay of Pittsburg, Texas; daughters, Tammy and Vincent Hendricksmeyer of Purley, Texas, Michelle and Benjamin Baker of Longview, Texas and Shelley and John Jefferson of Arizona; grandchildren, Raquel McKinney, Holli Freeland, Daniel Hendricksmeyer, Stephanie Futch, Bradley Futch, Decker Hendricksmeyer, Craig Gates, Camilla Terry, Robert Terry, Jr., Bella Baker and Scarlet Baker; great grandchild, Keirra Kershaw; sister Gail and her husband Richard McCormick of Cottonwood, California.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 3, 2018 in the Chapel at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Weaver Cemetery in Weaver, Texas. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
