Obituary of Tara Elaine Allen

Tara Elaine Allen, 33 of Mt. Vernon, Texas passed away on September 28th, 2018 at 9:38 P.M. at T. Boone Pickens Cancer Hospital-Baylor in Dallas, Texas after a long battle against cancer. She was born in Tyler, Texas on February 13th, 1985 to Nelva Ann Allen and William Thomas Allen.

She was preceded in death by her four grandparents, A.C. Newsome and Foy Jean Cowan Newsome of Mt. Vernon, Texas and W.C. and Betty Cannon Allen of Maysville, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her daughter, Circenn Allen of Mt. Vernon, Texas; her mother, Nelva Ann Allen of Gladewater, Texas; her father, William Thomas Allen of Mt. Vernon, Texas; her sister, Ashley Trantham and husband Dusty Trantham of Mt. Vernon, Texas; her two nieces, Ainsley and Tegan Trantham of Mt. Vernon, Texas; her Uncle Phil Newsome and wife Carol of Arkansas; and her Uncle Steve Newsome and his children Chris, David and Lara Newsome of Texas.

Tara was very much a "one of a kind" person that loved her family and friends dearly. She was truly the epitome of strength and perseverance. In spite of the tremendous adversity of being a single parent, she was passionately dedicated to her daughter Circenn as well as her two nieces. Her greatest joy in life came from being a mother and aunt to the special young ladies in her life. She was also a dedicated medical lab technician at Christus Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She was loved by so many and will be truly missed.

A visitation for Tara has been set for Friday, October 5th, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Texas from 6PM to 8PM. Her funeral services will be held the following day, Saturday, October 6th, at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, Texas at 11AM. Interment will follow service at Cypress Cemetery in Winnsboro, Texas.
