Obituary of Carolyn Sherman Labella

Carolyn Sherman Labella of Mount Vernon, Texas passed from this earthly life into eternal life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the age of 77.

She was born August 20, 1941, in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Floyd Joseph Sherman, Sr., and Mary Elizabeth Toney Sherman. She is preceded in death by her siblings Marie Sherman Simpson and Floyd Joseph Sherman, Jr., and by her second husband Carl Anthony Labella, Jr.

Ms. Labella was a loving lady full of joy, life, and pizzazz. She had a passion for fashion and decorating, especially when it came to special events. She was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Wilton Joseph Richard II and wife Becky of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Patricia (Trish) Ann Kuhl and husband Joe of Mount Vernon, Texas, and Lisa Ann Wilhite and husband Mark of Canyon, Texas all from her first marriage to the late Patrick Louis Richard. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Cody Lee Richard, Christopher Carl Sams, Christina Leigh Brown, Maria Nichole Sharp, Hannah Carolyn Knoblett, and Samuel Harrison Wilhite; her great-grandchildren, Tara Marie Richard, Tucker Glenn Brown, Alex Carl Sams, and Isaiah Neil Sharp; her sister, Rita Ann Gattis and husband Pat of Memphis, Tennessee, and many loving nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 1-2 PM. A funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Joe Kuhl and Mark Wilhite officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Cypress Hospice of Mount Pleasant,Texas or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
