Obituary of Peggy Crane Raney

Peggy Crane Raney, 74, of Mount Vernon went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Huddleston and Bro. Tommy Campbell officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at the Purley Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Lance Rose, Hunter Rose, Cole Strickland, Mike Dollins, Chance Crane and Michael Bohler.

Peggy was born December 6, 1944, to Carl Crane and Jo Marvis Thomas Crane in Mount Vernon. She was a life-long Christian and taught Sunday school for many years. She sang in the choir and did special music at the Purley Baptist church. Her favorite pastime was spending time in the yard planting flowers, taking the grandkids to the movies and girls weekends. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister and grandmother whose greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and grandchildren at their activities. She will be missed.

Peggy is survived by her husband Gary Raney; daughters, Tina Rose and husband Lance, Tonya Dotson and husband David, Tara Dollins and husband Michael; grandchildren, Hunter Rose and wife Michelle, Cole Strickland, Taylor Rose, Hannah Dotson, Emma Strickland and Jesse Dotson; and her brother, Randy Crane and wife Rebecca.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jo Marvis Crane; brother, Danny Boy Crane; and sister, Linda Broom.
