Obituary of Nadine Jennings
Ruby Nadine Jennings, age 96, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at Mission Manor Nursing Home.
Nadine was born August 31, 1922, in Mt. Vernon to George Culpepper and Beatrice Young Tinsley. Nadine was the oldest living member of the First United Methodist Church. She was married to the love of her life Allen Jennings for 54 years. Nadine loved to watch football, play games, read and listen to books and taking walks. She was very active and kept busy. Nadine was a nanny to more than her family, she was a nanny to all the children she took care of at church daycare. She loved her friends and family and will be missed. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Allen Jennings; her brothers, Johnny, Tommy, Ray and Gayle Tinsley; her sister, Mattie Bell and her son-in-law, Larry Littlefield.
The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Sam Harvey Funeral Home.
Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home.
Survivors include her son, Allen Jennings and wife, Teresa of Mokane, MO; 2 daughters, Mary Sue Littlefield of Hot Springs, AR and Leatrice Chambless and husband, John of Grand Saline; 11 grandchildren, Wayne Littlefield, Jennifer Meyers, Colleen Jennings, Stephanie Jennings, Terry Jennings, Cynthia Rogers, James Allen Jennings, Julie Whitaker, Rebecca Houser, John Chambless and Paul Chambless; 30 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
