After the War, Pat re-enlisted and fought in the Korean Conflict while Clara lived with her folks and studied to be a nurse. She worked clinics for Doctors Huffman and Price in Dallas before she and Pat opened a nursing home on Lipscomb Street in Fort Worth. They operated a second nursing home in the old Hilton Hotel in Cisco, Texas. She resided and enjoyed spending her last years at Mission Manor/Willow Creek, often offering advice on nursing care.

Their son Larry had three daughters, two survive: Stephanie Pamplin (Arkansas), Brandi Parker (Alabama) and her sons Gregory and Jonathan. Ed and Jean Pamplin (Mount Vernon) have four children: Jason, Anissa, Justin and Jeremy. Three survive: Anissa Grounds (Guthrie, Oklahoma) her sons Samuel and Jacob; Justin and Jamie Pamplin (Mount Vernon) and children Keith, Jordan and Emily Clark; Jeremy Pamplin (Lindale, Texas); Sharon Irene Cohen, has two children, Julia Christine Cohen Thomas, and husband Al, their daughter’s Morgann and Astrid (Portales, New Mexico), and son Austin Cohen, daughter Star, (Albuquerque, New Mexico).
