Obituary of Robert Keith Drummond

Robert Keith Drummond (06/26/1934-07/25/2017) was born to Aileen Kyser and Damon Robert Drummond in Macon, Texas.  He is predeceased by his wife of 48 years, Olyarie Newsome Drummond; and his older brother, James Larkin Drummond.  He is survived by his wife Suzanne Shaw (Nashville, TN); his daughter Tracey Diane Drummond, MD (Jeffrey J. Baird, MD); his daughter Paige Drummond Brody (Jonathan E. Brody);  granddaughters Sarah Brody and Rebecca Brody; and grandsons Benjamin Brody and Samuel Brody.  He is also survived by his sisters, Doris Stone (Red Oak, TX) and Lynn Parr (Mt Pleasant, TX).

After attending Paris Junior College, Keith earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in 1956 where he lettered as a Varsity football player and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.  Keith served as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army and then attended law school at the University of Texas College of Law.  He practiced law beginning in 1961 at the Dallas office of Strasburger & Price (formerly known as Strasburger, Price, Kelton, Martin & Unis).  Keith moved through the ranks at the firm to serve on the Policy Committee and as head of the General Litigation Division.  His success in the court room earned him recognition as a fellow in the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers.  In addition to his service as a Deacon at Park Cities Baptist Church, Keith also served on the board of Dallas Can! Academy and the Macon Cemetery Association, and as a Trustee for the Mt Vernon Independent School District.  His generosity will be cherished and his toughness will be missed by his family and friends.
